Homing fast on Valdivia
Amid the long swell of the southern Pacific, encircled by numerous birds of different species and literally flying at 7 knots, the Igamor is about to hit the continent. ETA is the 14th of November in the early morning, allowing the now completely trained crew to lead her up the rio into town where a peaceful marina will give them the opportunity of some days rest.
The list of repairs and preparations for the exciting journey yet to follow is nevertheless rather furnished and will require all the remaining time until the relieving additional hands arrive. It is quite a boast to take such a feeble plastic yacht so far down South, but she is of the best construction and after so many miles, the skipper knows her by heart. The challenge will be to tame the furious kelp, the 10 story high tides and at every dusk find a safe mooring which will hold against the screaming williwaws. But the region is said to be the most beautiful cruising zone in the world, which rightfully makes it the climax of this voyage before heading home North.
Oooh yeah this is still gonna be exciting, stay tuned m8s ;-)
Cheers, Michael
