It took us some time before we could get the kids to communicate on their adventure. At first, they wanted to post a video, but we didn't have the time to transform their fantastic ideas into a finished product, essentially due to a lack of time and available bandwidth. Now that we have gained some experience and start to be more organised, we can spend time to what we first considered less essential, although we now realise how important it is for them to share their impressions with the home front.

We are therefore very happy to let them express themselves, hoping this will allow their friends and family to have a glimpse at their life aboard Boomerang. As these contributions will most probably be posted in English, we hope this will also render our blog more accessible to those who do not master Voltaire's language ;-)

It first started in Cascais, so we will have to go back in time a little. Enjoy the reading!

"Hello guys!

These days are going to be passed visiting Cascais, a place in Portugal which is quite pretty. We went to a little boat where we did a bit of sailing. Soizic invented a new game, where you stuck your head over the side of the boat and you wait for a wave to soak your head. But you have to be careful about jellyfish and fish. Jellyfish because they can sting your hair, and there were pretty huge ones, and the fish because they can nibble your hair. Fortunately, nothing happened to us while playing.

We also saw a fantastic sandcastle, the builder spent days on it. After a while, he destroyed it to start a Christmas landscape, with a church and a forest. He even put some flower to make snow, and made a little lake at the bottom of the mountain!

We also tasted "pasteis de Belém", which taste great when warm. We did it in Belém, which is the only place in the world where you can taste them, and where there is a fantastic coaches museum. We also visited the Geronimos abbey, where lies the grave of Vasco de Gamma. In case you did not know, Vasco de Gamma is the first one to have passed Cape of Good Hope, opening a new trade route to India.

After Cascais, we will be sailing to the Canary Islands!
