Experienced deckhand couple looking to embark from Europe to Caribbeans or south-America early 2025 for a meaningful project

Hello sailors !

Aline and I are both experienced deckhands on cruising sailboats, see below for details.

 What is our sailing experience ?

We are both experienced deckhand with the following skills :

* Be an experienced deckhand and actively participate in the running of the boat: reactivity, relevance of actions, knowledge and execution of essential maneuvers at all stations.

* Not to provoke risky situations: anticipate and manage risks in maneuvers.

* Know how to position the boat and have a good knowledge of maritime context (buoyage, map reading, documentation, etc.).

We both acquired those skills from sailing camps and small crossings in the mediterranean (Empuriabrava -> Marseille ; Calvi -> Toulon). On my side, I have already taken part in a 6,500km-long crossing from Auckland, NZ to Darwin, Australia (3,600 nautical miles) on a 15m sailboat. It was a 22 days crossing with 4 man onboard. So I have a serious experience.

 Who are we?

We are 2 engineers and serial climate education activists: for the past 4 years, as long-standing members of the NGO Climate Fresk, we have been devoting our volunteer and professional energies to raising awareness and training citizens, companies and public servants about the climate situation.

In addition, we are smily people, always down for a laugh and chat, and volontary for all tasks 

What will we be doing in Brazil?

COP30 will be held in Brazil in November 2025. It's been 10 years since South America hosted a COP. So this is an opportunity to raise the topic of the climate issue on the continent. Ideally, we'd like to travel to Brazil in early 2025 to accelerate the deployment of the Climate Fresk in Brazil in the few months leading up to the COP, and to represent the association at the COP itself.
